I'm beginning to like reposts in a way.
It's like seeing the same page
in new ways.

Mike

Lay my bones in flowers
I hope that you will lay my bones in flowers when I die.
Lay my aging hands upon blue stones from the gray sky.
Lay my words in silver chains of verse around my neck.
Lay my dreams in the soily frost that winter sends.
Lay my wishes in the sea, a tumbled walling tide.
Lay my kisses in the ashes of the fireside.
Lay the imprints of our past in penscript lettered hearts.
Lay down then, beside my name, and watch the clear rain darts.

Now that I have read this poem, it now replaces "A Death In The Snow" as one of my personal favourites of your poetry. Go into the Archives again and post some more! I love them!

I know you're not trying t' make me cry, hon, but you could go a little easy on the theme here...

your tongue's like poison
so swollen it fills up my mouth

Sorry. It's 'cause I was doing a search for rain stones, and it pulled up a whole bunch of poems with either the word "rain" or "stones" in them. This was one of them, that I like enough to give a second showing.

And thanks, Linda.

Mike

Thanks, brian. Before SEA left (she's an awesome poet), she told me she wanted to hang this one on a plaque on her wall. Now that's praise.

Thanks, everyone.
