I bathe in oils and minerals in preparation for a god-- I dare not ask what he might seek-- I only pray that he will nod. I do not think I'd meet his eyes, I would fear what I might see-- I'm scared I'd see my own disgust in mirror of my hate for me. Never have I trembled so in my skin's transparency... I feel I am a virgin bride-- He sees me nude-- I can not hide. Never have I stood this bare-- I never thought that I would care I swore that I would never dare this naked vulnerability... and this just scares the hell out of me... |

Making oneself vulnerable, is to me, an unnatual act. So practiced, am I, at keeping a safe distance, that when "snuck up on" I am always amazed. "Watch yer mudflaps" is what I say. ~Ed In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward". |

Tanya, thank you lady, love your name, it reminds me of a favored bumpersticker: "Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup!" It would be a great signature for ya, heh heh. Thanks for reading. Sharon? It's sort of a "hermit speaks" poem, yes? with *winks* love you! K--there ya are! and thank you for being so gentle with me lately--er--did you cut down on caffeine or something? ROFL....LOVE YOU TOO. wranx--I never said I liked it--shaking my head--but sometimes? ya just can't help it, yanno? We're born pretty vulnerable, and it seems to me we die that way too. But thank for reading with hugs, and say, do ya have anything fancy written on yer mud flaps? Mud flaps always did amuse me-- |

Sen, I know how you hate staring into eyes. This poem is a naked gaze. Mike |

That prayer of nodding stalemates my abundant ability for others that would graciously accept if only I'd quit praying to such naked vulnerability Genius here. 'nuff said. Humbly your underling, P Oh yes, and Sev was totally on the mark here! [This message has been edited by Purity (09-04-2002 01:34 AM).] |

wow, blaze, but the supposed vulnerability you claim standing there nude, bearing all, is such a surprise, that it attacks. you win, inevitably. and like the potentially far-reaching biological warfare we now fear, you touched a nerve. thanks i'll always need a friend, one i can defend. |

Thank you. and? I am reminded of one those Reader's Digest anecdotes, regarding a woman in a college dorm---she was accustomed to walking back from the showers in the nude--then one day? Of course, she encountered a member of the opposite sex during one of these strolls...and being of a modest sort--she wanted to hide, and the only towel she carried was on her head, wrapping her hair. So...what did she do (oh I know, you all wait breathless in anticipation--grin) she DID take the towel from her head, and? NO...she did not wrap it around her naked body, but...COVERED HER FACE. I dunno who she is? BUT I LIKE HER. Thank you all so kindly. and? there is no "supposed" vulnerability--anything else perceived from me? is pure "bravado"... |
