I squeeze wine from stones
to make broth for briney soup.
The color of your hair
sticks like steam to edge my mouth.
And when I speak, I smell
your breath in mine. Am I gone?
The sky is alcohol and fire.
Sip its taste, now. Deep. Swell smooth.

I still can't see "color" without thinking it's spelled wrong.

I love you. Now quit guilting me about my hair; I'll be back to red in a month or so.

Awesome poem, wie immer.

i'll be waiting for you
do exactly what you're told

Thanks, Tanya. And one thing has come out of these replies so far, with a clarity unsurpassed ... Lori owns me! Cool.

Short with good impact,
Nice work again,

To all: I dont mind the patois you guys speak colour into color is fair enough. At least you say it the same. Its the fact you cant see the T in waTer that boggles me.

Alwight guvnor!
Bloody good show old boy!

Zall, you've heard someone say wa-er? I know I say "winner" and not "winter" (and "ar-inj" not "or-ange"), but I have never heard someone say wa-er.

I guess I haven't lived.

And Brian, that's two versus everyone.
