sometimes
I think
when you are gone
even as i finger linger
memory
repeats
as song--
my lips? betray me.
i am singer...

my eyes graze
in "far-away"
in gaze of bovinity.
my feet walk
toward a trough
in promise of serenity...

There I feed, as sun goes down.
There I'll drink--'till wobbled knees
be only things I can count on...
two-faced in duality.

If I'm not missing the mark,
methinks we all feed from the same trough
now and again. Some more than others, I'm sure. What's a metaphor? (old joke, I'm sorry, you know the cow thing...)

Not to be cliche in my reply to a "dark" poem but this is very deep. I liked your word usage because for once someone is using them in the right context!

The overall theme was very well explored and required a decent amount of brain power to figure out so I thank you for that.

Very much enjoyed so thanks for posting, Serenity.

A fascinating poem with many interesting literary devices.  I like the wobbled knees and the two-faced in duality parts.  Good job and thankyou for sharing.
