Rearranged by soiled fingers and defiled thoughts Glorified by their thoughtless caresses Surely purpose derives from pain But this pain cowers under a veil of assurance Lips of fire can scorch And pain does not always generate pleasure Rupture my voice and seal your ears, but hear this: The gaping hollow of my soul cannot be mended By the touch of strangers |

this poem made me stop in my tracks. there's much you've said here in these few lines. your words are true, melancholy, and determined. the way i like my poetry. well penned. it's our struggle for identity that leaves us all unknown |
