somebody's dungeon

It's last call
time for one more round
then the long walk home
on desolate streets
in a nowhere town
neon flickering out
as alone
I pass from the bottle
to my bed.

There are a million messages,
in a million bottles,
you just have to know
which one to pull out of the ocean.

It left the aftertaste of Springsteen, but I enjoyed this poem.

This is the second time in just a couple days that someone has said a poem of mine reminded them of Springsteen. I'm not into Springsteen, never have been, so I can only say it must be coincidence. I'm more a Creed fan actually. Glad you like the poem though.

Must be something in the water, WhiteRose. (and now I have "Something in the Water Does Not Compute" by Prince in my head)
