Struggle

The hands of life, or at least
What life seems to have become
Pushing and pulling at your
Every available limb
Arms, legs, heart, soul
Threatening to rip the seams
That barely glue you together
Struggling to keep the soul
The hope from spilling out
Into the surrounding darkness
Trying not to be over come
With the yells, punches and
Constant laughter that seems
To surround you day to day
As you watch the familiar
Die away, replaced by a
Cold and uncaring resistance
Stumbling blindly to any
Comfort you can find, hoping
It will be enough to get you
Through the lonely exsistance
That your spirit has begun to dread.
