You once spoke to Me in rainbows So sure that I had hung the moon And in streaming Ribbons of compliments Assured me forever Would end too soon But, now in memories Streaked black and gray You look at me - Then look away The tenderness of your Work calloused hands Has drifted away Like grains of sand The rainbows have faded And ribbons are tattered And you act as though None of that mattered Your hands arc back To justify an unknown wrong And I shrink away All tenderness gone These scenes they flash Like a slide show in my mind And each time they do - More pain I find Love has died and I'm not sure You want to be in the same room Much less leave a single Flower for my tomb [This message has been edited by StarrGazer (08-01-2002 08:32 PM).] |

Wow. You're very good at rhyme schemes, StarrGazer. It doesn't feel forced, but natural. And I love the message/story of this poem. Mike Said if I only could ... |

Such painful thought you evoke!!! Loved this side of the challenge!!! Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |
