the vast plain

mountain of bone

naked silver moon
and I
in the stillness of universe

I had been told
I would find it
     here

the powdered crunch
of millions
still echoed
as I peered up
the gleaming
    cone
bones of all
species
together
    puzzle of death

pulling my own
over the
vulnerable ones
I houred away
    the waste

summiting
I consumed
the sight of
enormous
obsidian
squatting

it's eight
moonlit elbows
contrasting the
three vertiginous eyes
    dizzyblack
        holes
to fall through

I felt drawn to
this wrongness
    approached-
needing an answer
never asked

soft diseased
wind-blown leaves
relented from it's
    maw

"do not complain to me of the canvas
    young Man
              the painting is yours..."

I reflected away
enlightened
by more than
    moon

I aimlessed
down the mountain
looking for the perfect place
to add
    my skeletal name
to it's
    illumined ledger

I never aimed at reality; I aimed at truth. --Orson Welles

Damnation, all to Hell. This, right here, is the golf shot that pays the greens fee.

You've got yo'sef a keeper here, fer shur!

Honestly, It's the best I've read of you. Now, I expect more.

I hope that only I will be luck to dream of such a moment. One of the best reads I have found so far.

very rich, and very dark...I used to do the same in my word play as you - such as aimlessed and houred, I've stopped doing that though in my recent writing - it's nice to read such experiment again...

great writing..
