Darkness is in bloom tonight--
bleeding grays in indigo.
She bleeds the color from the sky.
Darkness is in bloom tonight.

Dark caresses colored day.
Dark is in the casket—shut.
Petals of a rose in dust—
dark caresses colored day.

Darkness is release of sigh,
tempering the rainbow’s edge.
Stars of white-toes gripping ledge--
darkness is release of sigh.

Dark is deep within the flame.
You’ll find it just beyond the blue.
There you find it--black-engraved—
dark is deep, within the flame.

Darkness is in bloom tonight.
Dark caresses colored day.
Darkness is release of sigh.
Dark is deep, within the flame.
