You can never forget the taste of silence. So dry and bitter on your tongue. All the times when I screamed in my head, begging for you to talk; the rusty anxiety burning in the back of my throat. I tried to sweeten it with music and with dreams that could never fulfill. I tried to staunch it with new words and people to speak with. Our silence sits idly in my mouth, I gag on it and wish that I could have made it somehow different. written in blood before everything went black |

that sort of silence is maddening-- ask a man what he is thinking about and he replies "nothing"? 99% of the time it's the truth. grinning...don't ask a woman that--SHE'LL TELL YOU. Thanks for the bit of prose too, Ms. Lori--I am finding it a fascinating read! Enjoy yer work. |
