The Death of a Nation what begins must end but will begin again So goes another deadly year, bringing us closer to the truth Truth that only the government knows Is it alright to breathe the fresh air? with the fear of smallpox now being known Can i open my personal mail? or will i perish upon touching it? What's to celebrate about the new year? it brings us one step closer to extinction Stop all the violence that affects the nation A nation which is now a toxic waste dump How do you sleep at night,Mr. President? while your citizens live on in fear Does the threat of war excite you? Innocent lives fighting for a deadly cause |

An interesting poem. Sounds a bit like an activist's speech. I'm of a more cynical mindset. I don't believe that humanity will ever collectively "turn around" and stop all of its violence. I'm even known to say at times that the Bomb is all we have left. But that's SO cold war. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |

How wonderful though that we have choices. Me? I choose to live in the NOW rather in the fear of history yet to be written. immature maybe, but it really works well for me. I thank God that I live in America. |

I hold nothing against you, as you were concerned I did earlier. I may disagree with you at times, but who doesn't ever disagree with someone? Again, good poem. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |
