Jessie's crying |

She wipes her tears with calloused hands -- watches their watery imprint grow. Rose is shredded in bass strings. Flowers on the wire slow. No more words said from her friend. Went for permanency's sake. All the song they wrote together sound now lifeless, tinny, fake. Alone, she gives to shake. If only, if only, that ugly phrase makes its way across her lips. She just wants a time of when. A time of where. Without slips. She will be memory's ghost. Tinging even joy with pain. Nothing left, another breath to wish that breath would break the rain. Waiting for the train. Sometimes wants to join the tracks. Feel the weight of purpose met. Instead she sleeps and drowns in dreams. The sea is strong and won't forget. Just toss the rocks among her tide. Break the stones across her back. Turn her face this way, just once. Turn it back. Oh, turn it back. Sky begins to crack. The diamond star-fed black of moon. Promise of a cool breeze night. Train arrives. Jessie gets on. Gives her ticket. Clicks the light. Sliding now away from her. Driving faster from herself. Wonders should she play again or lay the bass in dust on shelf. Just something else. Please, something else. These smiling eyes are just a mirror for the sun. |

"Sometimes wants to join the tracks. Feel the weight of purpose met. Instead she sleeps and drowns in dreams." and? "Sliding now away from her. Driving faster from herself. Wonders should she play again or lay the bass in dust on shelf. Just something else. Please, something else." Maddening, ain't it? This tuned into my heart's thread so profoudly...thanks...I think... yer beautiful. |

This one touches me on a personal level and I'm not exactly sure why... Good one, Mikey... ~Tier "I shall never bond again, as I have bonded with you..." |

Felt personal to me too... I loved the style of this. Reminded me of me, maybe that's just because it's late and you used my name, lol. Great work once again. ~Jess |

Hey, Jess. No worries, it's not about you! (it's actually about me, but that's a long, convoluted mess of a thing) And, devina! Despondent urge? That alone needs to be a poem! She said burn ... together. |

Since you, though only for the time being, win, I should get my butt into gear and respond to the backlog fr all th' world to see, huh? I love you, baby. No Jessie-cryin' allowed, 'cause this poem then makes *me* cry, and that's not good. 'Cause no matter what Kim goes and does in the stories, I ain't gonna follow after her. Well, that's a lie, since I already am, but I won't follow her to her waaaaaay too bitter end. So there, squirrely-boy. "Es ist Folter, aber ich bin fast dort." Robert Smith's Torture in Deutsch. |

I was reading back through all yr Kissably poems. As I'm almost entirely sure this is the only one on PiP, I'll use it to talk through. Finally written the music for Begging Forgiveness, and I'm working on another chapter. It's what's got me down, more'n anything else. Back in the beginning, she was just distraught, but as it gets more and more evident that she can't survive, it's getting harder and harder to write it. How many incarnations of myself do I hafta kill before there's nothing left, anyway? Blah. This poem still doesn't fail to bring tears to my eyes. The inevitable, as well, though there's nothing soft about that one. Poor Ms. Kissably. Is everyone in my head a tortured soul? i'll be waiting for you |

No, I have no power to change the outcome. I knew from day one I was writin' another tragedy. Others in th' story can get their happily ever after, but it's just not fr Kim, y'know? i'll be waiting for you |

That reminds me of a story ... Back in high school (graduated 1995, graduated university 1999) there was this group of idiots who said "Hey Stretch, why are you so tall?" I responded "Lots of Flintstones vitamins and milk." They seemed flummoxed for a second, then one of the kids offered ... "You're funkin' weird, man." Only it wasn't funkin'. Yes, I am, thank you. Anyway, I have a genetic disorder/mutation called Marfan's Syndrome. It results in stretched ligaments, a sort of androgyne face due to bone structure, an increased possibility of an aneurysm, and good poetry, apparently. I actually got really lucky. I mean, my eyesight is the pits and it's hard to find clothes, but some people who have Marfan's (it's a pretty rare genetic mutation -- they think Abe Lincoln had it, as well as one of the more androgynous pharoahs) die from it very young, and spend their lives in a wheel chair. I figure, if I ever get famous, I'll definitely have to raise awareness of it. And even if I don't get famous, I'll still try. Have a good day, Tanya. I dunno, so we cancel each other out? That's a pretty down view of love, isn't it? Okay ... so we strengthen each other. How's that? Mike |
