I come unwound in my room, leaving black ribbons on my bed. Playing through my head, the last thing that she said. Her beckonings and demands, shiver-soft and whisper-thin. Playing through the thoughts that couldn't last in her wake. I see her shape in candles. I see her shadow in my drapes. I see her hands reaching out to hold a dying sun. Her hands are burning embers, glowing coals as long, sharp nails. In her every breath, destruction, and I cannot wish to last in her wake. Her hair is full of fire. I choke on her smoke. I choke to death in dreams of her and wake up full of stale air. Her consuming eyes make me want to drown in flame, gulping in heat waves as her beauty drags me down. The ribbons I left curl like snakes. Orange glow in place of a choice. The polished posts of my tousled bed reflect flickering heat and lights that could never be there. She falls on slow as a sunrise, implicit of its heat. She sears new scars into my body. Curdled, melting sheets. I call her name among the flame. She gives me burning kiss. My body engorged by her flame. Again I call her name. She reaches out and I beg for her fire, her closeness sears my skin. She reaches past me, hands trailing in the ribbons on my bed. A brilliant smile, all light and smoke, and she winds me up again. I tremble in the heat. Shiver at my undoing. The sky is turning to thick smoke -- dark kisses for the clouds. There is nothing left of me. There is nothing left of her. Floating sweet gentle fragrance of our love interred. [This message has been edited by bsquirrel (06-22-2002 02:00 PM).] |

Hey, cool! I'm now a possession to be batted around by two different women!  Nah, Lori does own me. But she lets me off my leash t' come and frolick in poetic verse every now and again! What? No! I've been good. Please ... put that away. Put that --- OH MY GOD! MY LEGS!!!!! *gasp* Why did you ... why did you? NO! AAAAAHHHH! I'LL BE GOOD!!! Just kidding.She said burn ... together. |

Oh my gosh! You guys are GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved the poem, but reading all that feedback you all left had me in a state of histeria! I think you all have some really cool personalities! Your my kind of people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Overall, this poem was really really tight and you all work together terrifacly! If that's even a word? Who knows, Who cares!!!! AWESOME JOB YOU GUYS!! It's almost as if watching a silent movie in my head. (the replies....okay, the poem too) anyway, i liked it a lot. i'm new to Passions, and i'm not farmiliar to either poet's work. i can say that it reminded me of a braided ficus tree. so wonderfully woven together that you can't tell where one ends and the other begins Krishankins your 100grit love is smoothing my soul |

I'm glad you all enjoyed. This is the kind of stuff that breaks my heart, knowing that Lori will no longer post here. But her ghost will be everywhere. Hopefully, it won't be so bad if I just keep my head down and move on. Sucks. These smiling eyes are just a mirror for the sun. |
