The sickening thud
as flesh meets earth
and scattered feathers
spiral slowly after
the fallen
Salvation
comes to those
in need but
will it come for
He that needs it most?

Thought provoking piece. Makes me think if salvation really is justified...just who qualifies? Just what kind of situation do you need to be in?

Aenimal,
you make it sound like there are degrees of need, very well thought out.

I picture hunting angels with a shotgun as they fall to the ground.  Not that I'm that kind of person it's just a great image.  I believe it takes someone with a lot of skill to get their message across in a short poem.  You get your thought across effortlessly.  Although the word "He" threw me off because normally when you capitalize it your talking about God.  So, I discovered your poem means two different things
and it depends on whether or not you believe it's about God or the human feelings beneath him.

Forgot that I'd posted this here. The meaning of the poem lies in the HE. This poem is actually based on a quote, unfortunately I can't remember the source of the quote though I believe it was Mark Twain, or the exact quote. The jist of it was the if church preaches salvation and forgiveness to everyone then why not the Devil himself? It's a great question, if one believes in these beings. Is the Devil himself entitled to forgiveness and salvation? Thanks for the replies and read
