Goodbye Stood on the porch where we so often sat, together. Whispered your name… the wind took it away, lofted it high, carried it across the yard, the trees, and I thought I heard a fading goodbye… Sat in your rocker, could still feel your warmth, the touch of your skin, the love in your heart, the way you touched my hand; said your name aloud… the wind wisked it off the porch, and I thought I heard a hurried goodbye. Walked inside, room to room, out again, placed my hands on the back of your chair, screamed your name… the wind stopped and I heard a soft goodbye, goodbye… w.james beard, jr. (c)november 2001 |

and the letting go begins. . . *sigh* it's always hardest this way. . . but, you find the way. . . well done. . . ----------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
