As all semblance of my life fades,
As I pull the last shreds and tatters of happiness
From wounded, load bearing shoulders,
I face such grim realities.

When your very foundations are taken from you,
When you gifts are discarded like unwanted trash,
When the leader fails to lead,
It seems I'm headed for a crash.

I do find peace and enlightenment within myself,
Within good friends and the like,
But such negatives only weigh me down,
I too can go on stike.

So my thoughts turn to fantasy,
I dream dreams that will never be reality,
I laugh, love, sing, learn and live,
Anything to ease such degenerate actuality.

I am currently living in a land of virtual make believe,
At least where love, dreams and hope reside,
I visit there albeit briefly,
A place free from darkness where I can hide.

It may not sound normal,
But it's a coping mechanism you see,
A place where everything turns out beautifully,
And my soul is finally free.

Hi there old friend, I'm seeing in this poem, a lot of pain, and a lot of the way my life is too. And isn't that virtual dream world so much better than reality most of the time?

yes fantasy is sumtimes oh so much better then the real world. keep dreaming if it keeps you happy...
