Marriage is
The cruelest game
For in the end
It’s all the same
You’re left with only visions
You have sought

So read these words
And heed my cry
Or else your soul
Will surely die
From loveless lies
That cause one’s heart to rot

Your husbands cheat
And wives do to
As they repeat
Their vows to you
Which all mean nothing
In the eyes of truth

You’re left to wallow
In your scorn
Whilst feeling hollow
And forlorn
As you pay the price
For feelings of your youth

So do tread lightly
My dear friend
And hear this message
That I send
Protect yourself
From all the guilt and shame

For when you see
My thoughts are true
The brightest light
Will shine on you
Exposing the fact
That marriage is just a game

A lot of emotion here. Brought back a lot of feelings I felt towards the end of my marriage. Hope you're feeling better now.

I do believe that marriage can be a wonderful thing when two people are right for each other. However, as one who is just ending a marriage, I echo many of the sentiments expressed here.
