WHAT HAPPENED?

My universe just doesn't make much sense to me tonight.
I had the stars lined up, then someone turned out their light.
The last time I looked up they were burning so bright.
What happened to the sky?

I knew just how to find my way right to the rainbow's end,
so I took a little drive there, it was just around the bend.
But the pot of gold had already been stolen by a friend.
What happened to my life?

What happened to my body?
What happened to my soul?
What happened to my future?
I thought I had control.
What happened to my family?
What happened to my friends?                       .
What happened to my happiness?
I want it back again.
What happened to my style?
What happened to my pride?
What happened to my mind?

I found a woman, fell in love, and things fell into place.
I was holding four cards in my hand and each one was an ace.
It didn't take too long before it blew up in my face.
What happened to my love?
What happened to it all?

I think these are all questions we tend to ask ourselves when life doesn't quite turn out as we planned. It looks like you are doing some soul-searching here, JT. May you find the answers that you seek and the strength to persevere on your journey. Good write.
