I dare to be different you call me a freak, I wanna be heard but you don’t let me speak. I’m down and you wonder why?! Not a day passes that don’t make me cry. I gaze in the mirror and looking at me, Ain’t the same person I used to see. Looks haven’t changed but deep in the eyes, A world is seen veiled in lies. I see the reflection of a heartbroken child, His sanity slipping his feelings defiled. Emotionally raped by the people he needed, Backs turned on him raped and then cheated. Shattered look tear streaked cheek, Finally broken, unable to speak. Author's Note: the spacing of words in this is intentional...i'm trying to help the reader get a better understanding of the pace...in your replies please answer me just one question: How'd it do for YOU?...much thanx < !signature--> " If who i am is what i have and what i have is lost, then who am I? This was very intense and very well penned. This moved me, and yes, the spacing is very effective. You express the sorrow, rejection and the stifling of a once strong voice extraordinarily well. I really felt this piece. The line "emotionally raped by the people he needed" really struck me~Wow! Take care, Melissa The beauty of poetry gives my soul wings to fly free within dreams |
