I sit at this computer Staring at the hollow monitor in front of me As it reflects my inner self I yearn for the spirit of Walt Whitman to possess me So that I might experience the joy that he received with life O Wise One Please tell me how tulips smelled to you What pleasures does morning rain bring? How wise are the willow trees? Explain the language of crickets please Compose a verse or two in the bluebird style Trade eyes with me so that I might see the sunlight through your unique vison I dream of us together, skipping across stones that bridge streams of endless beauty. Envious am I of your ability to see thru the darkness and appreciate the radiance of nature. Distraught am I that I only see black coals burnt out in a once searing inferno. O Greybeard, I implore you Paint some sunshine on the dark canvas that is my heart. |

I liked this piece...very nicely worded. And if I knew who you were talking about, I'm sure I'd enjoy it even more! So...#^_^#...who is this person??? heh heh...what can I say? I'm a geek! If homosexuality is a disease, let's all call in queer to work: "Hello. Can't work today, still queer." (If only...>; P) |

Thanks for the nice comments. I wrote this poem because I envy poet Walt Whitman's ability to see the beauty in all things. This man believed that basically everything was beautiful and I wish I could be like that. |
