I look deep into your mysterious green eyes This isn’t the first time I’ve looked Yet it is the most memorable This time I see everything that we’ve been through deep in your eyes Our life when we were children It’s prom night and here we are once again wanting to escape We can’t handle the noise and crowd and so… We run That is how we always escaped before We ran through our forest It is beautiful There, we see everything in a different light, Especially ourselves We feel a certain indescribable energy to be with one another In the woods we love each other for who we are Without the judgment of the people around As we run, I cannot think Everything is a blur We pass our overgrown field And also the swing we made when we were little I remember we were so proud Now it is old and covered with moss Finally we reach our destination where everything unfolds into a world of enchantment We climb up to our tree house and sit in silence We are alone at last with the warm night air around us I see you in the pale moonlight But I don’t just see you, I see us in those deep green eyes. ~btw this is something i just made up when i was listening to some music...its not from life experiences~ [This message has been edited by ethel lahootie (edited 03-08-2001).] |

Well this piece is outstanding. I loved the imagery, the sweet story... I pictured it all happening. Makes me jealous. "I remember we were so proud now it is old and covered with moss" Now THIS line hit me. Wonderful symbolism. Welcome to Passions in Poetry. I definitely can't wait to see more of you. ~Allan If I had your eyes, I'd be blind. For I can only see out of my own. ~~Carly Van Dort |
