I watched Carrie stand there on that bridge I told her she could get help with me, Suicide was not the way to go As I watched the tears flow easily. She said that she couldn't handle it And the pressure was getting so bad, It was hard for her to concentrate So she kept cutting herself like she had. I remember catching her one time With an Exacto razor in hand, I screamed at her to put it down She told me to stay where I stand. I turned around to run downstairs Calling out for help as I sped, Then I heard an ear-splitting scream She had fallen and hit her head. She had fallen from a lack of air Cutting her self too deep this time. I did not want to believe what I saw, Hoping it was all just in my mind. When help came they said she was lucky That I was there to call them right away, If no one had found her within minutes She'd have gone to heaven to stay. I told her that I loved her dearly And nothing could take that from her, I wanted things to go back to normal Back to the way things really were. As I reminded her of this day She started to cry even more so, She said that she was truthfully sorry That this was the way for her to go. I told her if she goes I will go As I moved closer to the edge, She told me to get back from there As she stepped back from the ledge. It was that day near the river That Carrie realized what people do, Friend's are here for a reason They are here to be here for you! *...Remember your roots, my friend they're right down below, because heroes come and heroes go...* - Creed |

Me and you... we're kin. I have had friends in that "scary" place, not quite on the ledge, but headed straight for it. It gets exhausting trying to let them know life is worth living, but yet here we stay, trying to be there for them... be their rock. Anyway, I hope this is better now. xoxo Jenn< !signature--> "A person can never get over a broken heart if they aren't willing to let go of all of the pieces."-- ?? WOW! This poem was horribly true to life. It brings things into perspective. Friends are some of the most people in your life. I needed to hear that right now. Jon "Your anger is a gift"-Rage Against The Machine |

Thank you all for the replies. This poem is very personal. Not all of this is from an experience, but some. But, again, thanks for the replies ~*Valerie*~ *...Remember your roots, my friend they're right down below, because heroes come and heroes go...* - Creed |

Hey, I'm a little late with my reply, but I still think your poem is really good. I like the way it is written, it's a very strong poem. "Disagreements stimulate thought, thought stimulates action, and action stimulates life." --Lakewalker http://www.thehungersite.com |
