This is one of our favourites!!

[sings softly]
[Silent tears are slowly falling]
only the lonely child knows why
for deep inside her heart is calling
but all she can do is sit and cry
she wonders why they never hear her
wonders why they turn away
she's all alone, the lonely child
so softly now she begins to pray
[Please God it hurts I don't want to cry]

[gets louder]
take me now into the sky
hold me in your warm embrace
and wipe the lonliness from this place.

[normal]
Just silence, there are no words

she listens but quite is all that's heard

so once again she begins to cry

because no one asked the lonely child.....
WHY?

Interesting, Sarah. Indeed it is sad but it is easy to see why it would be a favourite. I could hear it being sung.
