The Legend of the Dragon.

In lands of Once Upon a time,
A long long time ago,
A pauper lived in dirt and grime,
On a mountain topped with snow,
Underneath the pale blue skies,
And meadows of fresh green,
Where dragons were like flies,
And you lived till age eighteen,

A Princess in a golden gown,
Was taken from her throne,
A dragon flew into the town,
And took her from her home,
Days turned to darkness,
As the king sent out his knights,
But they all failed to impress,
But ended burning bright,

Came the pauper through the Castle,
On a donkey old and grey,
The King said it wasn’t worth the hassle,
And that he couldn’t pay,
But the pauper did his duty,
And tracked the mighty beast,
He had fallen for her beauty,
His common sense had ceased,

With a slingshot in his hand,
And love deep in his heart,
Everything was planned,
He’d tear the beast apart,
He crept on up behind,
And threw a stone at him,
Made the dragon blind,
But his chances were still slim,

The dragon cried a mighty roar,
And flapped his mighty wings,
A gust of wind had let him soar,
Above the weakling kings
The dragon drew a mighty breath,
And he blew a fiery flame,
The pauper met his death,
Devoid of any fame,

The dragon was quite hungry,
So he had a barbecue,
He ate up all the peasantry,
And fed the Princess till she grew,
The Princess grew up very tall,
Like every dragon should,
They married in the great hall,
And lived in the Deep Wood.

Hehe... not your typical story, but you still do a great job of storytelling with this piece! Thanks for sharing.

This was a mix between Shrek and David&Goliath. I liked this one and it was good......well done here.
