I live on an Island and long before I was born my island Puerto Rico was a colony of Spain and during this time they built a casttle called "El Morro." Well the point of this history lesson is that I went to the castle a couple of days ago and I thought this poem up, enjoy. Pausing Time I sit here just to stare A moment's moment facing the glare Sitting on an aged wall How many suns has it seen? In them the truth hides Yet this truth is of no care For the past is now gone And in this moment's moment On this old castle wall Facing the beach and the sun With the wind making it even better And there just staring For a moment life stops. I love you Puerto Rico My home...my land. I see the darkness coming all is bleak... |

Dopey's gonna love this. heh heh heh. I like it too though!! I hope some day to visit there......I also hope to get out of the U.S. for an EXTENDED period of time. I don't have an attitude problem You have a perception problem. |

Jorge, I loved this poem. I love Puerto Rico with all of my soul. I remember a few blissful moments in El Morror sitting on those walls. One, a field trip with Miguel. Two, with sascha and felipe during La noche de San Sebastian while it was pouring rain. Man those were memories I'll never forget! I felt this poem in my soul, but most likely it's because I can relate to it completely. VERY well written Jorge, such a nice poem. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
