This poem was inspired by someone i was talking to last night......thanks...... Let the darkness seep into the sunlight vanished vows re-surface after years of infedelity A drunk sits alone in his house regretting all his choices, wallowing in self-pity his children surrond him looking for love look into the futur see that man? look familiar? he's that son turned out just like dad A young girl full of life feels the hands of her father on her body all through out the years of most needed love look at her now on the street corner she's dying you know? killing herself with drugs and men I can see a young woman at the bottom of the ladder putting up with the groping hands of her boss look 5 years from now she's the CEO and founder of a new buisness while that boss is in jail for fraud See this young girl who is writing this poem? 15 years from now she'll be writing and working with great white sharks Life takes twists and turns cruel ones and loved ones but in the end it all works out... Sharks? Haha... but seriously, I love the quality of your latest work, Regina! You always write about such fascinating subjects, and your technique is such a compliment to this. I really like what you did with the concept of "hands" in this poem... very, very nice job on reuse of this word. Overall a great poem, but the hands thing is my favourite part. ~Allan Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |
