This is my 1000th post. Let us rejoice and be glad!

Anyway, I'm extremely unhappy with this piece as it's not the best piece I could find to represent my 1000th post. However writing pieces at 3am will do that to you.

Enjoy peeps.

The bed is crumpled due to lack of sleep,
An odour of fear seeps through the sheets.
Two eyes wide open stinging from panic,
At the ghastly shadow lurking in the corner.
Keeper of the nightmares cutting in the skin,
Dances around the room like a tiny firefly.
Silently taking pride in the poisoned tears,
That streaks the porcelain face.
To what degree do these nightmares burn,
As each second of slumber digs the knife deeper?
Memories and the future lay upon a table of time,
While angels of desire sprinkle rose petals around the edge.
Two seconds in the world of no return,
Result in chattering teeth and see-though hands.
Looking through the eyes of a lady gone mad,
The shadow still stands tall in its glory.
Subconscious actions tip the balance,
Of mirrored heads and thought out plans.
The eyes of the dreamer remain an intense green,
Whilst the face mutates into figments of the imagination.
Once again fatigue demands attention,
So the shadow takes the chance to move in.
Extending an arm and stroking the face,
A shudder of blind hatred runs thick through the body.
Someone enters - human in their form,
Checks the breathing patterns of this peace deprived lady.
Not noticing on the edge of the bed,
The spirit of darkness bleeding her dry.

great poem...the imagery in this piece...gave the chills...so vivid so well written as with all your pieces are...i really liked it...and also i liked the fact you are replying and posting more

wow I haven't read any of your stuff before but the imagery was so real it was actually good I liked it congrats on your thousand I think I have like 30 something so your doing better lol. Peace

First of all, Congratulations on your 1000th post Lizzy. Way to go

Secondly, I love the line about angel sprinking rose petals. That is very imaginative of you. Great way of putting words together. very impressive. I loved the read, so keep sharing

I love the mirrored heads part....well done. I liked this one Liz...and just the other day you said you hadn't even topped 1000 and you've been a member longer than me! Well now you can't say that

I've neglected to really read much of the stuff in these forums, as what I've seen hasn't really done much for me.  But that's all about to change.

Dark moods are often the topic of poems, I have found.  And to write one which stands out from the crowd is a truely remarkable effort.  Congrats.

Btw:  I find late nights often brings about the most clear of thoughts...

oh yeah.  To be one of the crowd.  Congratulations on the big 1000!

Im sorry that I am late but

CONGRATULATIONS!!

. I really liked this poem, it was kinda dark but in a wierd way it isn't. I hope that makes sense. I hope you enjoy your stay in the 4 digit zone while im stuck in the 3 digit zone. but any way CONGRATS on your 1000th post and CONGRATS on this poem, I really enjoyed it.
