- The lost - My mind is spinning, My ears are ringing. My heads about to pop, Will this agony ever stop? Can't escape, gotta get away, I won't live like this another day. Droning on forever more, Pimping off my life, like some sorta whore. You stare at me, eyes pierce my skin, Look straight inside, cut me deep within. My mind has gone, I've sold my soul, Heart once warm, I've grown cold. Yet it seems I've not aged a day, Since the time you walked away. The devils dance, I long forgot. Seeps back in, my body rots. I strike a match, it burns the same, A window to hell, a world gone insane. What I spoke was just a word, Always thought, but never heard. Why is it then, I'm condemmed to this cell? The cloud of happiness gone, from which I fell. Heaven's hell and summer's cold, I stay young, as the world grows old. |

I liked this poem. The word 'whore' wasn't used in a improper way so it could stay. I enjoyed this poem. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

I didn't even think about "whore". Sorry. I'll keep it in mind for the future. Thanks all the same. -Wood_Stock |

Now this I like! These lines,"I strike a match, it burns the same, A window to hell, a world gone insane." are fantastic. They run so well together. Well done. ~AF~ Life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved." |

Oh now this poem is really something to be proud of... the wordings in here are so unique and well thought-out, they really dig deep. Wonderful, wonderful work. The ending lines where what clinched it for me, this is a true work of art. ~Allan Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |
