As I Hear the Thunder Roll

As I hear the Thunder roll and I see the lightning strike,
I begin to wonder if this is what my God is like.
When I feel the power of the wind upon my face,
I want to praise the living source of amazing grace.

But, when I walk in quiet night and marvel at the starry sky,
I wonder why He sent His Son for me to die.
His power is shown in the time of violent storm.
Yet, in quiet time, His strong and loving arms are warm.

Amazing love from all-mighty God, to lowly man,
Who’s humble life is but a quickly flying span.
The power of the Lord of lords and King of kings,
In truth is one with the Great Creator of all things.

My Lord, He dwells in crashing sea and mountain high,
And in both the raging storm and the starry sky.
He lives in me and yet, He still allows me choice,
The Lord of love He speaks to me in still and quiet voice.

I enjoyed this poem. Very well done.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily
