As the people pass on by, Chilled to the very bone, This child is left to cry. Will no one save this child, And keep her safe from harm? To protect her from the wild, And win her with their charm? A child stands alone, Not knowing where to go, If this child could have flown, What secrets could she show? Will they let this child die, Not knowing what she holds? Will they stand and let her cry, While her heart inward folds? A child stands alone, And watches it all pass, If only they had only known, This child in the looking glass. "No one holds command over me. |

Brilliant! Your poem is full of wonderful images. I especially love the third stanza. |

I thought you did very well with this poem. I liked how you ended it too. Very well done. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
