This might be too weird for some. Sorry.I was listening to Deftones and Pink Floyd late at night this weekend. Thinking about life, and this one came out. Hope you don't hate it too much.

I am all alone in a crowd of many
Yet I stand out only to myself
Dreadful nightmares of what’s to come
Waking to the fact that it’s my impending reality

Reality is my nightmare, my hidden fear, my boogie man
Straying from my path,
But being forced to watch every beautiful twist and turn
A stranger to myself yet no stranger than anyone else
A shell of my former being hidden behind complacency

Conformist views being fed intravenously to my feeble mind
Accepting the fact that I shall never be
More than a sheep in a flock without a Sheppard
A lost soul watching the second hand count down to my coming demise
Lying comatose as the world moves on without me

A slave to the indecency that this world breeds
Just another puppet, pull my strings, watch me dance
Illusions of a meaningful life cloud my brain
As I close the book on another day that I accomplished nothing

Very well done here keoni, and I love the title of this poem. I liked it a lot.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.
