"Stinging Bite"

You have no problem
With pointing your blaming fingers
At me without checking my word.
You jump ahead to believe what others say
But don't care about what I have to say.
When you finally hear my voice,
It's already too late
Because you've already set your mind
To believing what's false.
You see Gossip's face
And take it all in so easily
Making it your own.
When the Truth stares you in the face
You turn your head,
Surrounding yourself with Gossip's comforting mask.
So I lose a friend in the end
All to the thoughts of the careless
And deadly rumors.
My opinion doesn't count
So why even listen right?
I'll just turn away,
Fall back into the darkness where I belong,
While you smile smugly
And return to laying in the jaws of Gossip,
Secretly hoping they won't bite back.

gossip can destroy people, i definetely can relate to the messae of this poem. you did a great job on this piece and you expressed yourself well. i look forward to more wonderful poetry from you.

Sometimes, the things that go unsaid are the only things worth hearing.
