Last weekend my class went on our senior trip to new orleans...finally some inspiration...

Address not Available

In between the balconies,
standing in an ancient haze,
savioring every moment
of his Nawlins days,
seeing all the old shops,
one way streets so crowded too,
music on the coners,
tile sidewalks plodded through,
Mississippi River,
St. Loius I and Jackson Square,
went to Burbon Street,
and paid a trolley fare,
saw some haunted houses,
courtyards and the garden district,
the hold it had on him
was feeling somewhat mistic,
waiting for his return,
the city kept on going,
New Orleans gets its way with people
without them even knowing.

my daddy is from louisiana and we go down to new orleans from time to time, so this poem brought back some good memories for me.  i love the images in this, you really put me me in the middle of the jazz joints and crowded streets.  this is beautiful writing, keep posting your work.

Let's all go to New Orleans.  Anyhow, my class is going to DC on thursday and friday of next week, but not me. Oh well, I get to stay home and lounge around and do whatever my heart desires!    HAHAHAHAHA.  Anyways, great poem Lakey.
Also, nice pic.

I wish people would stop telling me that I can do anything I want to.  I never thought that I couldn't.

Great work man!  Nice to see you have inspiration once again.
I learned a bit about New Orleans in French Class... but your poem taught me more than that class did.
Well done.

The casualness of this poem is really cool.  It kind of feels like I myself am visiting New Orleans for the first time.

As for critiques, you've made a few spelling mistakes - namely your spelling of mystic.

Stace- It's an interesting place, and thanks for the reply

acire-There were beads in the trees down there still.  Thanks for reading this one!

Jon-They wouldn't let us go down there during Mardis Gras   It was fun anyway

Ben-I think that's a great place to have a pip get together   Thanks for reading this

Javier-you can come and meet me, ben, and everyone else down there.  That'd answer you question if you'd ever meet any people from pip.  And midgets?  You really want me to write about midgets?  I don't think i could do it.

Hey, great poem! Very descriptive, as if I was there in reality. *sigh* the joys of travelling...WOO! *hijacks a lego airplane and flies to New Orleans* Mental note: Stay away from lego.
By the way, thanks for the post!
