In worlds where it's detrimental to arrange your own thought life the way you want it, where one step into prayer leads to a life of insanity and irrationality, where even one incling of theism is a cardnal sin, when whips strike the backs of those who decide not to think the same way as the normal rational crowd, where every thought counts toward either the sane or the insane end of the scale, where you get into trouble for holding beliefs different from others because you don't think the same way they do and so you decide to have a sweet old sensible party in the head with your soul and you get into trouble with the atheist inquisition, where it's written in the book of life that life's all the more foolish for living life with meaning, where it's silly to believe you have a God of Love in a nihilistic world, when nobody cares about the choices you make and then all scream blue murder when you choose differently from them, where depression and human existential predicaments run high and happiness runs low in the realm of stupidity are those worlds in which I live. So call to arms And camp yourself for war hath begun! defend your mind soothe your soul with the music from of divine love and sweet attackers serenity be pathological Die be good Die last man stands on the field wins*dies Are you ready for school? Yes Mom. I'm ready. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |

Haha..... I really like the stanza leading up to it. Really creative. I can't figure out what the words below it are supposed to be drawing though, sorry. Little help? I enjoyed this one quite a bit.  ~Allan Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |

Allan and all: This is one of my new freeverse experiments. The last stanza is intended to portray the chaos of differing philosophies clashing together in our modern era. And finally, it demonstrates the only certainty in our existence - death. "If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. dude!!!! This was awesome. I totally got this one. VERY VERY well done! School, yep yep.....brainwashing place isn't it? I really enjoyed this poem quite a bit. I like this new expiramentation you're doing. keep it up!  I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
