I've always found it hard to spread my wings and fly. I was always afraid i would be rejected. So I hid parts of myself from you, and the rest of the world. I thought you'd hate me. I thought you'd treat me like the plage.
So when i saw you i hid myself even more. Not just my emotions and my personality.
But my body as well.
With my fingers in two simple rings my wrists in a watch and a braclet, my face with makeup.

I could never tell you what was really going on. I couldn't tell anyone, i was just to scared.

But now i've lost my rings,
my watch and braclet are on the bedside table,
my make up no where near my face.

I realised the face of my misery was me hidding. It wasn't what anybody else did to me. Because i let them do that in a way. I thought i would be happy if i was the person they made me.

I'm now slowly learning how to spread those wings, learning how to fly, and this time it's easy. Well eaiser....

Life will always go on just remember to stay focused and positive.

Hey, this is so nice...I truly like how it was written.
I'm sure you'd be soaring in no time  .
The name is so true for how life is (for me any way)
It's beautiful, keep writing!

Every action of our lives touches some chord that will vibrate in eternity.

Great job on the poem, Katherine.  I enjoyed reading it.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

When a young bird is learning how to fly, it first falls out of it's nest a few times before actually flying.  This is so similar to life, and just remember that it's OK to fall out of your nest once in a while.  I liked this poem, and I like the title alot too.  Great work.
