I watch it from my window As if it's all a dream People are the only thing I see Nothing is what it seems. Babies crying, the elderly dying No one knows what to do, Kids shooting, couples disputing, What will this world turn into? Scared to go to school Or even to their mailbox, Afraid of what they might see Cause someone wore the wrong socks. Drive by's, robbery's People can be so greedy, No one understands what it's like To be homeless, hungry and needy. I liked the innitial part of the poem. However, I didn't much like the flow of it. Your thoughts are in the right place though, you are completely right about the negative portrayal of what seems. I often think like this too. Good one here within the message.  I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I'm in love with my shadow I admire it daily |

This world is so sad sometimes, I agree. But, the other day I was talking to a girl who told me that all the little beautiful things in this world, in nature, and little healthy children, and other happy things just remind you that the world can be good. I know a rose bush is nothing compared to a drive-by shooting, but it's something. Yes you read poems like this and think of the meaning behind this... you realize how right the person is, and how true the idea is. Then you wonder why anyone could belive that they are their own God. So many people are proud of our technology and all that, but yet you look at the lives we live and you see just how pathetic of a socity howver advnaced, we are. By the way I really liked this poem. |
