Third attempt at a sonnet.. and yes "scenery" and "greenery" are two-syllabled words. This poem is describing the painting of Vincent Van Gogh entitled "Vegetable Gardens in Montmartre" The link to the graphic is http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/gogh/gogh.vegetable-montmartre.jpg Enjoy. "Spectable Gardens" Marking this land with clever depiction, The lines of citrus and sun don’t huddle, But passably, they amplify fiction, With the firmament being so subtle. Guarding windmill launches a sky of gray. The asleep villages drink the greenery. Profound tones seize vegetables as they lay, Breeding conglomeration of scenery. Lusterless clouds blur into the dull sky, Revealing the blanket of overcast. The confessing strokes divulge the art’s cry, Howling like brisk winds trying to out last. Making us united, and one with the land, Allows us to see nature as it stands. J.D. Raulinaitis 1/17/01 "Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation." -Oscar Wilde |

LKP - A sonnet usually consists of about 12 lines, each containing 10 syllables in a ABAB format; along with a rhyming couplet at the end, making 14 lines. AF - Another one to the library? Your making me blush. "Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation." -Oscar Wilde |

Hey, yea I can't do this kinda stuff. The poem over came me with this serene feeling. Nice one jer. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I'm in love with my shadow I admire it daily |

Thank you all... You really have to scrutinize the painting in order to get the real meaning... ~JDR "Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation." -Oscar Wilde |

I read your words, then looked at the picture, and read your words again. Thank you so much for providing a link to the picture this! You have done very well on this sonnet, and the others.
