"Voices From The Past"

surface hard as a rock
inside, closed with a lock
never opening to see
what lay ahead to be

it wasn't always like this
the other's truly missed
this the only way it could be,
for memories won’t set it free

the past is always haunting
and nightmares come a'taunting
loud crying voices in the night
wanting to scream with a fright

never understanding
no reasons, just demanding
to take control
leaving it without a soul

losing it’s mentality
lost sight of reality
they won’t stop screaming
voices still deceiving

something went wrong
voices are gone
silence is here
there falls a tear

it’s body decayed
dreams led astray
shed no tears, you see
for now I am free

I did like this one. It's a bit dark, but that's alright... the past can be a haunting thing as you described. I love how you portrayed it.
I'd have to say that the last line might be revised, usage of the word "now" twice wasn't really necessary.

Dark but good. I liked this read and felt it was a good first post. I hope to see you reply and post a lot more in the future.
