This is the first of my 3-part series (my first series! wow!). The final part will be my 3000th post, so this is the first part in my little countdown. Thanks for reading!

I

The earth is bathed in starlight
From the carpeted, magical sky
And the world is perfect for awhile
As I look into your eyes

Those beautifully perfect, sky blue spheres
Hold the entire world for me
In them, I see another Eden
The way the world was meant to be

No words are needed as I gaze
Into the windows of your soul
For a moment, we seem to forget
That the world is out of control

I forget that I feel the sticky warmth
Of your life behind your head
I forget that we only have moments
Before you will be dead

I only remember the first time I saw
Those perfect sky blue spheres
One gaze from those piercing opticals
Gave me the story of our years

After we had grown up a bit
We would come and say, “I do”
Then we would always share our lives
And I’d gladly bear children for you

I would never have thought this would happen
That I’d be holding you today
That you would be shot, so innocently
That you’ll soon be on your way

I look into your eyes once more
Oh, how you cling to life!
You comfort me, although I see
You fading from your eyes

Finally, you have to leave me
For the winged seraphs above
But right before you make your trip
You promise me of your love

“I’ll meet you in another life”
You tell me with your eyes
And then your life just fades away
As you take to the starry skies

I’ll take your promise with you
And at my end, I’ll sing
Because we will never meet an end
But only another beginning!

Erica, this is just beautiful. I can't even think of any words good enough to tell you how impressive this is. All I can say is that it is going into the library. You're amazing and you just plain rock.

Hurry up with the second part alright. You have got a fan right here of this series.
