Intimate Friend You have a glistening golden ear That hears the silence of a tear That feels the thorn of hidden fear And wraps me in your fold You have a heart that knows my own In intimate ways the two have grown And in your tenderness you’ve shown The essence you behold You are the mirror of the skies That shower sunbeams in my eyes And little stars that crystalize In visions never told You are a jewel of my desire You light a lover’s yearning fire And in intensity inspire The passion I withhold Somehow you always clarify The pictures etched within my eye In spectrums of a rainbow sky The splendors I behold You are a fervent flowing spout With pristine phrases pouring out A mountain echo’s turn about A fountain filled with gold You are my life, my joy, my friend A true companion til the end My glistening golden poet pen The mirror of my soul Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 01-26-2001).] |

All my favorite things rolled up into one poem.....imagery beyond compare, nature's beauty, powerful sentiments, superb cadence, and and awesome rhyme scheme, and of course the poet herself in her mastery of the pen........loved the way the final line in each verse hit upon the verse above and below it. Truely a spectacular read. |

Straight to my treasure box - perhaps the lovliest Liz Santos poem I've ever read. The object of this poem must be your equal - a person I'd love to meet. |

THank you all so much for your wonderful remarks. Seems like Kethry's still in the "poet speak " mode.(that was a great poem) Your comments are very kind, and Bill, the object of this poem is my poet pen (reread the last verse), in fact it's anyone poet pen Thank you Liz |

Elizabeth~ What a glowing tribute to the pen of the poet. 'You are a fervent flowing spout With pristine phrases pouring out A mountain echo’s turn about A fountain filled with gold' 'My glistening golden poet pen The mirror of my soul' And we are reflected in the words we write .. this is superb ! *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

My dear Lady Santos....a trusted, gifted friend e-mailed me this poetic gift of yours....apparently before I had read it...but I didn't read the e-mail until after I had responded....just to let you know.... many are reading, heeding...learning through the art of the pen.... that poetry lies beyond fiction....goes into the soul, to lift, to give, to breathe... as do you, my friend....and all that read you, are blessed....for you have a gift, and in all sincerity....one that will not be surpassed for quite some while.... I curtsey to you....Lady Santos, and I remain, humbly, your friend Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |
