Do You Still? |

Do You Still? A love so pure, so rare, so passionate, A hunger unsustained but yet increased, Her absence fuels this need so base and yet, Have these same needs my lover feels decreased? Through endless days my fires diminish not, But am I doomed to burn yet burn in vain? Is solitary love to be my lot, And do my love's desires begin to wane? For with my love does love begin and end. How senseless would it be to love anew? She touches me and ecstasy descends, Just as the first to thrill me ever through. Do passion's glowing embers simmer still Or does her lack of passion cause my chill? [This message has been edited by David2 (edited 01-24-2001).] |

Isn't hard to still that doubt that love will inevitably leave? Enjoyed this. "Hearts will become practical when they make them unbreakable" ~The Wizard of Oz Much love all, Krissie |

This is a very well-done sonnet. The doubts do seem inevitable, don't they? To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

David2, How utterly romantic this is! A beautiful sonnet to carry me with me throughout the day. (By the way, I bet she still does.) emma |
