Cockroaches of Life Virginia Salter Is a cockroach at your elbow is one in your kitchen drawer could one be in your driveway or your place of work? Could one be in your brother or someone else that you love Irritation that is rasping, grating on your every nerve. Or does one creep into ignorance, intolerance that you bear creating infestations that thrive and drive you to despair. Do you rise up with fists or with tools in your hands Claiming you’ve a right and power to take a stand. As cockroaches eat away at your patience and your love, mind reeling, head spinning, wanting with all your might to give a hearty shove. Where do you turn what way can douse the anger that within you greatly burns? © January 21, 2001 I have mixed feelings as to whether this is finished or not. It seems it should have an answer provided, or is it one that is to move the reader to seeking the answer. Anyone it was actually a sermon on going to God for help with one's anger. |

Wow that's scary, I wrote a poem just about a week ago about cockroaches, and now all my friends and I have formed a group called the cockroach order, in this group, I am the high Commissar Commander of the cockroach order . I will post the poem up in a little bit if ur interested, it's called 'Viva la cockroach' . I loved your poem, and personally I'd leave it open, therefore the reader can think what they want to think making the end result exactly right for them . Enjoyed it very much, and the cockroach thing is fantastic, you will truely understand how much I enjoy the subject if you read my poem . Thanks a lot . L.of.L. Tommy . Thanks Tommy, glad you enjoyed, I guess. ;o} The use of cockroaches as an analogy to the plagues and troubles of life was originated with my pastor, to my knowledge anyway. I merely used it in my rhyme in trying to convey some of the meaning of his Sun. message. I also left a comment on your poem, but you probably already know that. |
