Building a new house, stress in marriage, family and work has led me to ponder these thoughts: The progression of this house (my life) has sometimes been slow. Open, empty hollow walls (life) building up to make them whole. Who was I to judge you in church seeing you in flannel shirt smelling of gasoline, sitting next to me that day. There for our children's concert, along side other fathers dressed in shirts, ties, wonderful colognes I wished you would go away! Re-evaluating feelings, values, what is important, how you looked, that you were there, or where you've been. Tossing my heart up-not knowing where it lands. Knowing you've been here has to mean something for me. Is it enough to keep me feeling, wondering, my heart can't be free. Are the walls in this house standing in support of you? Or are they separating, keeping a reality from view? And maybe there's something to be said, knowing you've been there through thick and thin. Seeing you still standing there, long after the dust still settles in. [This message has been edited by Gemini (edited 01-22-2001).] |
