I'll weave for you dreams of flesh Said the beggar to the queen A daring weave of intimate mesh Part reality and part dream And he wove… Counting the strands With deft strong hands Marking the warp and the weft And he wove… With precision bold He wove brave and gold Lifting the dream from it's cleft I'll sing for you dreams of night Mingle the joy and the bliss And if you stand and do not take fright I'll mix in some dark abyss And he sang… A dreamer's song As the weave moved along The music was caught in the weave And he sang… A siren's pure tune And he courted the moon To cast dreams for the sorrowing eve I'll bleed for you dreams of power To keep vigil over the day Where meek and might is joined this hour And the weave shows the truth and the way And he bled… In tapestry of pain To wake the sun again As the moon and the stars stood still And he bled… The weave taking the hue Mingled old and the new To dream power and direct queenly will I'll weave for you dreams of flesh While the queen took the weave for her own Wove the beggar, into the mesh As the dream and the weave had both flown And he died… As the queen grew In the wisdom she knew Had come from the weave of the cloth And he died… Till the power withdrew It went with him too The queen was left, bereft, sore and wroth Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Kethry, Well you wove me up in your blanket of dream. And I feel like I don't want to wake up or take it off. Beautiful write. Sy |

Excellent penning (or should I say weaving). This one really grabs ahold of you and doesn't let you go. I enjoyed it much. |

Insect, thanks for the comment. Sometimes finding just the right title is the hardest part Sven, Thank you so for the wow! I appreciate it. Poeminister, glad you enjoyed this weave. Cat, you can have my dream weaving. After this I think I'll go back to what I know and the shallow end of the pool. This was way too deep for me. Be fine, you shine Kethry Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Patty Hansen. |

I'll bleed for you dreams of power To keep vigil over the day Where meek and might is joined this hour And the weave shows the truth and the way And he bled… In tapestry of pain To wake the sun again As the moon and the stars stood still And he bled… The weave taking the hue Mingled old and the new To dream power and direct queenly will ========== Look at me girlie weavin away ... WAY COOL write Keth love the imagery in this ... and NO DEAR .. you DO NOT belong at the shallow end of the pool ... youre the life guard WEAVE ON gator girl Poetry is not an opinion expressed ... It is a song that rises from a bleeding wound ... or a smiling mouth. ~Kahlil Gibran~ |
