a chill creeps up my back and shoulders like icy fingers massaging icicles into my skin even my elbows stiffen under the frigid air about me |

Lost in the awareness of my fear Cowering to the turmoils in my life I question whether anyone can hear As pain slices through me like a knife [This message has been edited by Mark Bohannan (edited 01-21-2001).] |

There doesn't seem to be a light switch in the room; I guess I'll have to go on instinct. At least if I had the light of the moon, I would be able to, for a moment, think. I won't go, I won't sleep, I can't breathe until you're resting here with me... |

and yet spare me from the torments of my mind-- ceaseless thought of love's pantomine-- tranquility is as glass, gleaming stark and still, and just as fragile, as is my will.... |

Cast shadows spread before me, multiple memories, agonies in my mind, spreading out, it's the dreams I fear, haunting, haunting, torturous by design. |

for my mind works against me, a will of it's own never could I imagine this cold gray immovable stone oh chill, oh knife, O...breath of life for I would go on, even if I shall be alone... |

The flavor seems to change now and then...let's keep going. Uh, don't count this one, it's just an interlude within the rest. Wanted to get it back on page one. |

Alone againt the mist of memories against the tides I find myself getting stronger, slammed onto the rock once known as you Only now, I don't crumble as I toss your name back out into the cold harsh winter sea |

And although you call my ravaged soul, A piece that used to make me whole, I find I can resist your voice. This is your end, it is my choice.< !signature--> ~The hardest thing is watching the one you love... love someone else.~ [This message has been edited by PoeticEnchantress (edited 01-21-2001).] |

a creature in the night ushering in fear and fright i can sense him in my pores mysteriously creeping, whispering along the edge of the ocean shores< !signature--> A poem is never finished, only abandoned. - Paul Valery (1871-1945) [This message has been edited by Victoria (edited 01-21-2001).] |

Silently my love was pushed Down to the ocean's floor Raked along and drowned in spite Then dragged up to the shore. Outstretched on the beach My love lay stiff and soon to die Beaten badly by the ocean's tides ... And it's waves that crucify. |

And icy fingers chill my spine To see the love who once was mine A victim of the ocean shelf Or did he want this for himself Was I too selfish, was I blind And now the chills run up my spine [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 01-21-2001).] |

Oooh, this is so good, eerie, chilling, WOW! Sunshine...thanks for pulling it all together once there. Do you think it's done now folks? The way the last stanza is seems like it's gone full circle. Go on though it you'd like. Thanks so much every one for contributing. I shall place a copy in my saved folder. |

![]() I really like the finished product, if indeed that's what it is. Very haunting (i know i'm going to kill that word someday...). Good job, everyone! ~The hardest thing is watching the one you love... love someone else.~ |
