Glass Coating Virginia Salter for a temporary time Viet Nam took you away your photograph was all I held for many a day on day I’d kiss your picture with my lips spiritually with my heart await the days and nights to come when cold glass would not keep us apart you returned to me, at home so safe the years went swiftly by our love produced a cherished child until our love became a lie I’d not wish death on you oh, no, it would not be so but sometimes a piece of me hates that you did go for it would be some easier bearing cold glass on my lips than against this heart of mine when cold holds it in its grip © September 9, 2000 |

Oooops! Sorry! It looks like your 'sunshine' is splayed all over the wall, too. Or is that just my lenses needing cleaning? |

Virginia, right on! this is so powerful, sad how the image doesn't always match the reality. Kethry Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Patty Hansen. |

Wow! Powerfully penned. Yes, this is one of your best! I feel every emotion strongly in this poem. I love the cold glass coating theme - very effective. Take care, Melissa The beauty of poetry gives my soul wings to fly free within dreams |
