Unrequited

To write
as though the emptiness
between each verse did not reject
all that your words before expressed.

To love
as though your heart weren't kept
back in some attic drawer or chest.

to read
with compassion
and not have to hide
the passions
smashing 'gainst the window's sill
what a thrill
that would be

I have to save this one.

How do you do it?  You seem to have a knack for explaining what is thought to be unexplainable.
