i've seen a lot of references to the phoenix here lately and so thought i'd repost this today.

-phoenix rising-

I am pheonix,
rising from ashes,
resurrected from flame,
my talons spread and
I will not be held down.
once engulfed by blaze,
swallowed by heat,
ignited by fire,
scorching, seering
in holocaust inferno,
i breathed swift an
exhale of cool ice
from oiled feathers,
ascending
through havoc, ruin,
destruction, chaos,
scaling heights
from the crest of hell,
aspiring to my summit,
escalating until the
victory was conquered.

i am above the flame.
i am phoenix.
i have risen.
keep watch
for me.

i have prevailed.

Phoenix, this is beautiful, but then as a siter of the phoenix I know the strength and power of them. It is indeed wonderful, and welcome come join our phoenix phalanx, the sight will bedazzel those few who can't fly.
