The Smile Thought of you today A smile crossed my lips As I stood in line Ready to order My noon meal And ready To enjoy my meal While thinking Of you, When a glance By a fellow, An out-of-towner No doubt Followed me He caught my eye Two or three Times more As he Watched the smile Flit across my lips As I thought of you Perhaps thinking It was for him But all I could do Was continue To smile At the thought of you Being told this And knowing that In reply You would only Kiss my lips And the Out-of-towner Could only Watch me Smile write with grace, all others lose face; |

I enjoyed reading this. Reminded me of when I smile thinking of the one I love and people wonder??? Why is she smiling??? If they only new the power of what I was feeling. |

You left me with a smile also! Lovely flow to this Lady In White. The greatest part of a writer's time is spent in reading, in order to write; a man will turn over half a library to make one book. |

Lady--A simple thing like a smile is pretty intricate, isn't it? Loved this! |

No doubt a bit of risk, but when love is deep, what else can one do but smile at the very thought of it. Nice poem, even makes me smile deep within. It also makes me think of a phrase in a book that spoke of a character whose corners of the mouth nearly met behind his head. Now, that's a smile, isn't it. |

haha....I love the ending!.....I often think of things like this. That women see me smile and be friendly to them and they think I'm wanting to be with them, but they have know idea how content and happy I am with the lady I already have. good poem! Joe |
